These rules and policies create a respectful, supportive, structured, and enjoyable learning environment for everyone involved.
1. Tuition and Payment System
Monthly tuition must be paid via automatic payment through Square, using a credit/debit card or ACH transfer, on the 1st of each month. A payment method must be saved on file for timely payments.
A one-time enrollment fee is due during enrollment.
First-month tuition is prorated for mid-month enrollments.
Notify the instructor in advance if payment can't be made on time. Late payments may incur additional fees.

2. Refunds
There will be no refunds or tuition adjustments if students miss classes or have absences for any reason.
Extra practice sessions throughout the year may serve as make-up classes.
3. Withdrawal
Withdrawal from classes requires at least one month's notice.
If notice is given less than a month before, the next month's tuition will be charged.
4. Class Schedule
Classes are once a week for one hour. Please ask the instructor about the start time.
Holidays/vacation periods will be communicated by the instructor.
5. Commitment
Regular attendance is encouraged, as it is essential for progress.
Students are expected to attend every scheduled class, practice lessons at home, and come prepared.
6. Absences
If a student will miss a class, please notify the instructor in advance.
Repeated absences could affect the student’s participation time in performances and eligibility to complete exams.
7. Uniform
Students should wear specific attire for Kathak classes: Salwar Kameez, Kurta with Churidar, or Leggings with Kurta.
8. Dance Costumes
Costumes are required for performances.
Details regarding measurements, ordering, and costs will be provided by the instructor.
9. Hair
To maintain focus and safety, the student’s hair must be secured in a tight bun, braid, or ponytail for every class, ensuring that no strands fall onto the face.
10. Ghungroo (Ankle Bells)
Ghungroos are an essential part of our dance practice.
Please consult the instructor about the specific type needed and plan for their purchase.
11. Writing Supplies
Students should carry a composition notebook, pencil, eraser, and sharpener in their dance bag, along with their ghungroos.
12. Water & Food
Students must bring their water bottle to avoid disruptions caused by walking in the hallway with ghungroos.
No food should be brought to the dance room.
13. Examination
To progress to the next level, students are required to participate in examinations.
The instructor will provide more information about this process, which will be based on the student's readiness and age.
14. Performances
All students are encouraged to participate in performances throughout the year, as we are learning a performing art form.
Guidelines for each performance will be shared in advance.
15. Extra Practice
Additional practice sessions may be scheduled before exams or performances, or if a class is canceled.
There will be no extra charge for these sessions.
16. Communication
Regular updates regarding class schedules, changes, and events will be communicated via messaging or email.
17. Drop-off and Pick-up
Please ensure that students are picked up and dropped off at the scheduled times.
18. Cleanliness
Let’s maintain a neat dance space and facility by disposing of trash properly and keeping the environment clean.
19. Safety
There are emergency exits on-site, and a first aid kit is available at the front desk for any immediate needs.
